The most exciting thing about our week was that we were able to get out the set of iPads. We used the iPads for both Social Studies and Math. In Math, we took a short quiz and watched a few videos on math concepts. In Social Studies, we used several digital maps to locate physical features and landforms in the U.S. Then we used the Pages App to create our own maps of the U.S. landforms.
In Science, we have been thinking about day and night. We learned the Earth rotates once on its axis every 24 hours. We also read that it spins 1000 miles an hour! That's 14 times faster than the Moon spins. We created a model of the Earth and Sun using a styrofoam ball and a lamp to see what causes day and night. We could also see what sunrise and sunset looked like on our model.
This was the Pathfinder Team's week in review. Please stop back again soon to see what we're learning next.
